Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about GrabScript.

Is GrabScript really free?
Yes, GrabScript is 100% free. No login, no paywall, no hidden charges. We don't even ask for your email. Free today, free tomorrow, free forever.
What languages does GrabScript support?
GrabScript supports every language that has captions on YouTube — English, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Arabic, and many more. The language is auto-detected from the video; you don't need to select anything.
Does it work with YouTube Shorts?
Yes! GrabScript works with regular YouTube videos, Shorts, and even livestreams — as long as the video has captions enabled (auto-generated or manually added).
Why is the transcript missing or empty?
Some videos don't have captions enabled by the creator, or the auto-generated captions may not be available yet. GrabScript can only extract transcripts from videos that have a caption track. If you're seeing an error, double-check that captions are available by clicking "CC" on the YouTube player.
Do you store my data?
No. We don't store YouTube URLs, transcripts, or any personal data. Everything is processed in real-time and nothing is saved on our servers. We don't use cookies or any tracking scripts. See our privacy policy for details.
Can I use transcripts for my blog or content?
Transcripts are derived from YouTube captions. Copyright belongs to the original video creator. If you're transcribing your own videos, you're free to use the text however you like. For third-party content, please respect the creator's rights and check fair-use guidelines.
Is there a limit on how many transcripts I can generate?
We have basic rate limiting to prevent abuse (10 requests per minute), but for normal use, there are no limits. Use it as much as you need.
How accurate are the transcripts?
Accuracy depends on the captions available on YouTube. Manually added captions are usually very accurate. Auto-generated captions are good for most languages but may have occasional errors, especially with technical terms, accents, or background noise.
